Itinerary
Day 1 – Louisville, KY – Dinner & Fun at Malibu Jack’s
Arrive today in Louisville, KY where you will enjoy a three-night stay at a local hotel. Tonight, enjoy dinner and fun at Malibu Jack’s. It is Kentucky’s best all indoor family fun park! Enjoy go karts, laser tag, miniature golf, arcade games, food, and more! (D)
Day 2 – Kentucky Derby Museum w/lunch – Churchill Downs Walking Tour – Frazier History Museum w/Program – Belle of Louisville Dinner Cruise
After breakfast, head to the Kentucky Derby Museum where you will have full access to the museum, including two floors of interactive exhibits. A viewing of the epic film, “The Greatest Race,” a 360°, 18-minute media experience that will make your heart race and emotions soar. Lunch will be included today with your visit.
After your visit to the museum, enjoy a Guided Walking Tour of Churchill Downs. Learn the history of historic Churchill Downs Racetrack and the Greatest Race, The Kentucky Derby.
The afternoon features a visit to the Frazier History Museum, where the world meets Kentucky. The museum documents and reinterprets stories from history using artifacts, gallery talks, and live daily interpretations by a talented staff of costumed actors known as teaching artists. Also included with your visit to the Frazier History Museum is an Educational Program that could feature topics such as Kentucky Pioneers, Revolutionary Kentucky or the uniqueness of Kentucky.
End the day with a dinner cruise on the Belle of Louisville. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the river as you see the town from an all-new perspective—out on the water. Sit back, relax and enjoy dinner to the sound of live bluegrass music. (B,L,D)
Day 3 – Louisville Slugger Museum w/Program – Kentucky Science Center w/Class & Lunch – Muhammad Ali Center – Derby Dinner Playhouse or Louisville Bats Baseball Game
This morning, visit the Louisville Slugger Museum. Take your baseball knowledge to another level with this exciting factory tour experience! This world-famous tour begins with a thrilling movie that transports you to the forests and mills where every Louisville Slugger bat begins. After that, walk through the heart of the factory production line and check out never-before-seen steps in the bat-making process including the creation of the fan favorite mini-bats. At the end of the tour, you will receive a souvenir mini bat.
Also included with your visit is a 20-minute education module in a private setting. Topics of discussion could include Jackie Robinson, The Mathematics of Baseball, or Sweet Spot Science.
Next, head to the Kentucky Science Center to explore three floors of excitement, over 50,000 square feet of interactive exhibitions that offer educational science fun for everyone. Embark on a journey of discovery through various activities that captivate the minds of young and old. Included with your visit is a Class featuring inquiry-based explorations, designed to hone critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Student teams will ask questions, define problems, determine their investigation, gather and analyze data, and form and defend conclusions. Lunch will also be included today with your visit.
The afternoon also includes a tour of the Muhammad Ali Center. Two-and-a-half levels of interactive exhibits and multimedia pieces present Ali’s life and legacy and will motivate you to explore your own values. Enjoy learning about Ali’s Louisville roots, unprecedented boxing career, his social and religious convictions and global humanitarianism.
End the day with your choice of either dinner and a show at the Derby Dinner Playhouse or a Louisville Bats Baseball Game. The Louisville Bats are the Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. (B,L,D)
Day 4 – Louisville Mega Cavern – Depart for Home
After breakfast this morning, head to the Louisville Mega Cavern. Get ready for an unforgettable underground journey aboard the Mega Tram at Louisville Mega Cavern! This new, reimagined historical tram tour takes you deep into a massive man-made cavern on a 60-minute guided adventure. As you travel through this incredible subterranean world, your guide will share fascinating insights into the cavern’s unique geology, rich history, and much more.
