The Antebellum Blues

This historical combo-tour of Natchez and New Orleans is filled with music, antebellum sightseeing, and history. You’ll enjoy a guided tour of New Orleans and Mardi Gras World, as well as visits to the Frogmore Plantation and the Historic Homes in Natchez. You’ll hear music on a Dixieland Jazz Dinner Cruise and enjoy a performance at the Natchez Little Theatre.

U.S. Highway 61, known as the “Blues Highway,” rivals Route 66 as the most famous road in American music lore. Dozens of blues artists have recorded songs about Highway 61, including Mississippians Sunnyland Slim, James “Son” Thomas, “Honeyboy” Edwards, Big Joe Williams, Joe McCoy, Charlie Musselwhite, Eddie Shaw, Johnny Young, Eddie Burns, and Mississippi Fred McDowell.
