Itinerary
Day 1 – San Diego – House of Blues Dinner
Arrive today in San Diego, CA for a four-night stay at your Mission Valley area hotel. Enjoy dinner this evening at the House of Blues. (D)
Day 2 – San Diego Zoo w/Educational Program & Lunch – Afternoon at Balboa Park – Old Town & Dinner at Café Coyote
This morning, visit the San Diego Zoo. Come face-to-face with polar bears, hang out with a two-toed sloth, and explore the 100-acre wildlife park that’s home to over 12,000 rare and endangered animals, including more than 650 species and subspecies. Immerse yourself in exciting educational experiences and learn more about how your visit helps conservation efforts worldwide. Lunch will also be included today with your visit to the Zoo.
During your afternoon, explore Balboa Park, home to more than 16 museums, gardens, trails, and many other creative and recreational attractions, including the San Diego Zoo. With a variety of cultural institutions among its 1,200 beautiful and lushly planted acres, there is something for everyone. Your Explorers Pass and free tram service provides you with access to the many museums and attractions here.
Then head to Old Town San Diego. Soak up the city’s Spanish and Mexican history with a visit to Old Town’s fascinating museums, festive cantinas, and colorful shops. Dinner is included tonight at Cafe Coyote located in the Heart of Old Town San Diego’s Historic Walking District. Savor traditional Mexican food made from authentic ingredients; watch Mexican Tortilla Ladies make fresh tortillas to accompany your meal the Traditional way “a mano” (by hand). You will also listen to strolling Mariachis fill the air with festive Mexican music. (B,L,D)
Day 3 – SeaWorld w/Program & Performance Option – Beach Time – Evening at Belmont Park
This morning, visit SeaWorld, home to world-class animal presentations, rides, shows, and exhibits, spread out on beautiful Mission Bay Park. Over the last 60 years, SeaWorld’s esteemed Rescue Team has rescued and returned more than 42,000 animals found ill, injured or stranded along the beaches of the local coastline. Behind the scenes at SeaWorld, passionate zoological team members care for these animals to rehabilitate and return them to the wild, giving them a second chance at life. A portion of every guest’s park visit goes to SeaWorld’s rescue and conservation efforts.
Included with your visit to SeaWorld is an Educational Program and a meal voucher for lunch. Groups can also schedule a performance at SeaWorld.
There should be some time to enjoy the beach this afternoon.
Enjoy the evening at Belmont Park, the Best of San Diego in One Beachfront Block. Belmont Park is home to 12 thrilling rides, 6 adventurous attractions, and 3 oceanfront dining experiences. Classic favorites such as Bumper Cars, Carousel, and a Tilt-a-Whirl sit alongside modern rides such as the Beach Blaster, Tiki Typhoon, and Flip Out.
Take a walk through the 18-hole, interactive, island-themed Mini Golf Course or fight zombies and pirates at Xanadu, a new 7D interactive theater. If you’re looking for some friendly competition, head over to LazerBlast, a 3-level Tron-themed Laser Tag arena. Dinner will be included at the park this evening. (B,L,D)
Day 4 – USS Midway Museum/Program & Lunch – Harbor Cruise – San Diego Padres Game
This morning, tour the USS Midway Museum. Experience life at sea aboard one of America’s longest-serving aircraft carriers. Enter a floating city at sea and walk in the footsteps of 225,000 Midway sailors who served our country and upheld the American ideals of strength, freedom and peace. Explore more than 60 exhibits with a collection of 29 restored aircraft. Those who dare can “take to the sky” aboard one of two flight simulators.
Also included with your visit to the USS Midway is an educational program. Enjoy action packed learning, interactive and hands-on activities, and fun with a trained educational staff member.
Lunch will be included today at the Café located at the USS Midway.
Next, enjoy the best sightseeing on San Diego Bay with a narrated cruise of more than 50 storied landmarks. You will cover over 13 miles on the Big Bay, passing by Seaport Village, Shelter Island, ship-building and dry-docking facilities, Coronado Island, Point Loma, and Cabrillo National Monument, among many others.
As you sail, you’ll see delightful marine animals and majestic sea birds and hear about what local environmental efforts are doing to protect them. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to capture all the sights in photos and video.
End the day with a San Diego Padres game at Petco Park. Dinner will be included at the stadium. The Padres also offer a couple of on-field experiences for groups to include a National Anthem Performance or be designated at the Group of the Game. A Pre-Game Tour can also be added. (B,L,D)
Day 5 – Depart for Home
